It is really a joke for PKU to partner with the unknown American university. Just imagine, if BIMBA's partner is Harvard, BIMBA definately can attract the best candidates in China. If without a partner, it still can attract very good candidates in China. However, with such a partner, I would say lots of best candidates, may be not all, will try not to apply the program. This is something funny like that " Harvard B-school established a strategic alliance with Guizhou B-school in China." (* I do not know whether got Guizhou B-school, just like I do not know whether got Fordam. If got Guizhou B-school in reality, apologize first.)BIMBA could position itself much higher, but it failed to do so.Now, it is even harder to get rid of the impact of Fordam.I would say the impact is huge and negative to me.
Sorry, add a few more sentence. I do believe that BIMBA is still one of the best MBA programs in China. However, I do believe that the reputation is mainly from PKU and CCER, but not from Fordam University. The alliance with Fordam have really ruined the potential of BIMBA to grow to be a better MBA program.
Just too many "you think" "you hear" and too many baseless assumptions. MBAs should learn to base their positions on solid specifics. I hope you can conduct surveys in Beida and among fortune 500 companies. Actually I did compare Bimba with Guanghua when I was still a Beida undergruduate students by using questionairs and I re-conducted the survey in the year 2004 three year after I graduate and now base what i say on the research outcome. If you don't have first hand materials and numbers, please do shut up. I assure you that many of your quoted examples including the history of CCER are absolutely baseless. Please speak as a MBA does. Thank you.
Just now, searched some information on BiMBA. It is not as bad as what I had thought. I admire Jiazhe's attitude to use questinairs and survey to support his/her opinion. Can just show us the data? I really doubt whether the data is sufficient and representive.Ask Beida's student to prove Beida's program is good. Sounds a little bit biased.I still prefer CEIBS and CKGSB.
I admire the people at CCER a lot. However, it is not a good strategy for the Beida to have too many separate programs running similar things. I recommend that CCER merge with Guanghua and get rid of the partnership with Fordham.
Thank you for your recommendation. Ckman. However, my position if that Beida is a place to embrace things of different styles. I believe even conflicting programs will coexit in Beijing in a coordinated manner. That is the tradition and essence of Beida spirit. Bimba and Guanghua cannot be combined since they represent two teaching philosophy and people will initiate their option based on their needs. Partnership with Fordham does has its problem, as we can see, but we have to bear in mind that Beida and Qinghua, even CEIBS and CKstill cannot be parelleled with any of the world class MBA programs and a prestigious program cannot be achieved over night or in a few years for it takes tradition and culture refinement. Fordham is not a big name indeed but in terms of MBA development, I can assure you that, far better than Beida and Qinghua. Why not forget fame, reputation and anything superficial, being down to earch is essential to all MBAs. Thank you again!
