Topic (TWE066): Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Classmates are a more important influence than parents on a child’s success in school. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
When it comes to whether classmates exert more influence than parents on children’s success in school. I would claim classmates play a more important role. There are numerous reasons why I would think so, and I will explore a few conspicuous aspects here. The first and most important reason is that the similar psychology between children and their classmates allows them to communicate better. For example, some boys or girls of ability occasionally get a lower score, their parents are most likely to blame them and simply ask them to study harder. Whereas their fellows will recognize that it is all because the test is more complex than before and sincerely console them. Another obvious case in point is how children learn the team spirits. When children grow up, their parents will emphasize the importance of team spirits to them. However, the more they hear these inane sermons, the more they will feel repulsive. In contrast, while they play games with their peers, they will learn these spirits spontaneously. They share so much interest in common that they are more sentimentally attracted by their classmates’ activities. Another equally important reason is that children spend more time with their classmates in school, which certainly guarantees close contact. According to psychologist, people are generally inclined to follow the behaviors of other people surrounding them. Since more school begins to enact the close education mechanism, for the convenience of management, students are required to stay in school from Monday to Friday. Such large amount of time is sufficient for the children to acquire their classmates’ common behaviors, habits and believes. In short, only those who contact more with children can exert influence on them. Moving to wilder theme, as children must finish the alike assignment of school, hold the similar expectation of parents, follow the same guide line of teachers, they are apt to build concrete friendship. They are urged by this friendship to consider themselves as an entire unity, and realize that they should study together, play together, overcome the difficulty together, and therefore influence each other. In conclusion, although I admit that parents also affect the children’s growth on campus, I am firmly convinced that all the factors, including the similar psychology, a great deal of time together in school and the concrete friendship, are adequate to elucidate that classmates exert more influence on children’s success in school.
1。整体感觉真是挺不错的,就是读到第三段最后一句话(In short, only those who contact more with children can exert influence on them.)有点怪怪的。这句是不是有点太绝对化,想想那些偶像们对fans的影响。
2。Moving to wilder theme, as children must finish the alike assignment of school, hold the similar expectation of parents, (and)follow the same guide line of teachers, they are apt to build concrete friendship.这里三个动词平行是不是应该在最后一个谓前加上and.还有就是alike用得不对,记得alike只能做表语的。
When it comes to whether classmates exert more influence than parents on children’s success in school. I would claim classmates play a more important role. There are numerous reasons for that (why I would think s T作文里,最好不要用I MY ME什么的个人意见很强的词), and I will explore a few conspicuous aspects here. Another case in point is how children learn the team spirits. When children grow up, their parents will emphasize the importance of team spirits to them. However, the more they hear these inane sermons, the more they will feel them repulsive. In contrast, while they play games with their peers, they will learn these spirits spontaneously. It is well acknowledged that people tend to be influenced and sentimentally attracted by those who they can easily communicate with and share much interest in common. Such large amount of time is sufficient for a group of children to crystallize their common behaviors, habits and believes (the children to acquire their classmates’ common behaviors, habits and believes). In short, only those who contact more with children can exert influence on them. Moving to wilder theme, under the similar expectation of parents and the same study burden, more mutual understanding and tolerance are spread among children. They all attempt to study according to their teachers’ guidance and stand out in various examinations. The arduous difficulties of being a successful student give them the feeling that they are in the same boat. And through the progress of conquering these difficulties, they naturally build a concrete friendship.
