how to talk about failure in your essay

failure is a common issue in essays of MBA applicaition..

I would like to know which method below is better:

1. talk about failure in University, which is far away from now..

2. talk about failure in job, which is closer to present..

It is a tough call. I think the key is not the failure but what you have learned from the failure. So you don't want to pick a failure that happened too close to present. In that case, you won't have the opportunities to show that you learned from it and made progress. But you certainly don't want to pick a failure that was too far away.
