Hi there,
Due to the unexpected long period of international student study permit application processing time, I am writing to ask about the tuition fee payment schedule. By consulting an immigration expert, to make sure the application to be processed in time, it is better to pay the tuition fee and present the receipt to citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) before applying study permit. However, the official letter of offer indicates that the annual tuition fee schedule will come out in April and I can only get the receipt thereafter.
Is it possible for you to give me some advice regrading the study permit application process? How did the last batch of international students do? Thank you very much.

Hi, I personally don't think it is a must to provide the invoice of paid tuition before applying, as the real amount of tuition will be more than the amount shown on your offer letter. Are you applying within Canada or in China? Are you eligible for SDS application? If you apply in China, and have IELTS, SDS will be a quicker way to apply for study permit and visa, and less documents needed, the overall process will be much easier. A lot of our classmates apply through SDS.

Thank you for reply. I am currently studying at one of the colleges in Canada. Therefore, I just need to extend my study permit by present the offer of admission and financial support. I wonder what's the minimum money I should put into my bank account to make sure the study permit renewing process to be successful.

Hi, I'm not familiar with extending the study permit within Canada as I'm an international student and apply within China. But I think it will be much easier if you just need to extend within Canada, so my suggestion will be provide the bank statements with amount at least more than tuition fee shown on your offer.

咳咳，学长姐好！想问一下我们coop学期是什么时候开始呢，大约会持续到多久，因为考虑到在外面租房子，不知道一开始应该租多久？

你那上面有写是今年的开学时间吗？一般来说不是准确的，开学前几周会再通知。给你我们15年的时间做参考：5月19日international orientation, 20-21日27Month orientation, 26日正式开学～

学长姐是个什么奇怪的称呼－－是学姐哈哈～

co-op学期从1月开始，四大和银行等一般1月初就开始实习，其他的所开始时间从1月初到2月初不等，一般以tax为主的所都会从1月底2月初开始。coop会一直持续到4月底。

租房的话，因为你coop的地点不定，有可能是mississauga, downtown, north york, markham甚至relocate到更远地点，所以建议一开始租房的话最好考虑到这一点。
