文章的gap在于：

it is justifiable if it can lead to cures for human ailments.

即：leading to cures for human ailments --> justifiable

而susan说的第2句话中表明：these experiments are justifiable on the same grounds,

即：human values deserving of support --> justifiable

但是susan没有能够证明：leading to cures for human ailments equals human values deserving of support, 也就是E所表达的内容
