请教：名词的单复数问题。另：哪里有相关的资料？

我常被名词的单复树问题所困扰，哪位有相关的资料归纳？

另有两道题请教，是TOEFL语法教程 exercise 27 中的 Q35 和Q38：

35.  Perhaps more than any other United States city, San Francisco is a collectin of neighborhood.

错的是neighborhood, 应如何改？为什么？另外city为什么不用复数？其实我也没弄明白这句话是什么意思啦！

38. The planets far from the Sun are so remote from any heat source that their temperatures are thought to be much near absolute zero.

much near 错，应如何改？另外这里的source为什么不用复数？

这个是考点之一拉，单数可数名词不能单独存在

any other是其他任何一个的意思，所有city不用复数

38. The planets far from the Sun are so remote from any heat source that their temperatures are thought to be much near absolute zero.

much near 错，应如何改？另外这里的source为什么不用复数？

这个就是我个人的观点了，改成much nearer或者very near,感觉very near 更顺一些，source前面有any啊，任何一种资源，所以用单数
