I've only been to Purdue and it is a great MS program if you want to go on further for PhD after your MS. urdue is known for its academic astringence and its Phd in Hospitlaity is rated as one of the top three in the US. However, if you want to join the industry after your MS, then NYU is one, out of the two, imho... I doubt whether a lot of recruiter will go to West Lafayette to hire its master's students, whereas you can start your networking on your day one at NYU... Only con for NYU is the cost of living.
美国酒店经理也是一样的。就连著名的酒店集团也很少到知名的商学院请工商管理硕士毕业生。但是如果你想做财务、营销、研究类的工作，就另当别论了。我所知道得比较看重学历的集团有：Starwood, Marriott, Venetian, and Harrah's Entertainment. Even Revenue manager at most Startwood, Marriott or Hilton hotels, are promoted from Assistant Front office mgr, who most of the time, do not have a management degree!
对了，我认为楼主最好选纽约，因为你现在好像比较缺工作经验，而在普度有没有便利条件。纽约就不一样了。Location, location, location.... 还有啊，我不大喜欢部门经理工作，比如客房，前台。因为你要管理一大群人，他们就是服务人员，不好motivate, 同时我们是外国人，it's not easy for us to demonstrate strong leadership in that setting, versus a corporate setting.
