well, it is definitely true that Ivey treats applicants very very well, during my class visit, every visitor got a gift pen, and there was class visit, students panel, and professors panel including the dean. The visit was a whole day event, and you would feel really really impressed.
But on the other hand, just some thoughts, no offence at all, it could be the results of not having enough high qualified applicants. Therefore, the school tries its best to lure potential applicants.
The reason is that I also visited Tuck, during that visit, no professor would meet you, only 1-2 students. No questions and answers, and no gift too....hehehehe. The whole visit is about 2 hours, including a class visit and a short question period. But Tuck clearly told me that over 3000 applicants competed for 250 spots. So you can figure out why they do not need a massive promotion. And the 2nd year student who gave us the tour around the campus, got 4 job offers already. That was in the early of April.
I didnot have the opportunity to visit other top 10 schools, but my guess is that they will not give you a super welcome visit since their problem is that they have excessive qualified applicants, so they donot care that much whether you are impressed or not.
Again, no offence. Just provide you another thought, or view based on my personal experience. |
