Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents or other adult relatives should make important decisions for their older (15 or 18 year-old) teenage children. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
Although some people think that parents or other adult relatives should not make important decisions for their children, different people would have different opinions based on their different backgrounds. As far as I am concerned, I strongly believe that parents or other adult relatives should make important decisions. I will illustrate my views by following discussion.
First of all, the teenage does not know what the future would be. Their parents should help them to make some important decisions. For example, some teenagers do not like studying but nowadays society requires us to get a lot of knowledge to survive. The parents should make a big discussion for their children to continue study to university or not.
Secondly, parents know their children better than teenagers know themselves. Parents can make important decisions according to the truth of their children. Parents also have a lot of experiences to deal with any cases problems, and they can hand it very well.
Although 15 or 18 year old teenage has a certain ability to make some decisions, their decisions also probably are right. However, we can sure parents are the best friends of us, and they have more experiences than teenage. They can do better than teenage do in the big decisions.
In conclusion, based on the reasons that I presented above, I strongly believe that parents can do better than teenager making decisions. Because parents have more experience, parents can plan the future for teenage. |
