我如果如您所说diy的话,我目前辞不了职,因为交接需要很久,可能至少一个月,我又要同时准备gmat,又要 ...
1. Back to the topic, top 100 possible or not? Be honest I am not in the accounting field so I don't have much to say. Only thing I can think of is, I had once saw some "big cow" stated that in economics, school out of top 80 rarely have top research on the frontier, and thus it is next to impossible to find someone guiding PhD student to do top / good research, and thus the outcome of those program are not good. Not sure about the size of accounting faculty, but I guess it can be even smaller than that of economics....
i.e. I will suggest you to look in this number..........and seriously consider another master if you cannot get this standard (given your goal of back to academics after graduation). Cass is a good business school which have decent connection with industry due to location and being practical, but not that a great place for having master to prepare for academics.....
2. IETLS: IELTS is something one need to meet, but not something that can stand one up. As long as the requirement listed by the school is met, one can forget about it first.
3. GMAT: Actually I don't think GMAT is that useful.......in no sense the GMAT is an useful indicator of research ability. If I am the admission committee, I will look at the school, paper, empirical skills, and reference letter more than a GMAT, which I will treat it as some administrative stuffs.
But be frank I had heard of some case that there are really some business will look at the GMAT score, but as far as I remember they are mainly the lower rank one, and this comes back to my Q1: is it enough to prepare one to academics? If not, worth to go a PhD or not?
(master is another story, especially for professional master, when GMAT is kind of tools to sync the background of applicant, especially business master are in general easy one, i.e. no need a hard test on intellectual ability, but rather interviews and personal statement to see the soft skill / career mindset so that the school can get a decent working placement (and for the same reason top business program are likely to limit the number of international applicant))
Off topic:
1. I guess you are not resigning now, so busying with "交接需要很久,可能至少一个月" is something going to happen after you get an offer...........if you are telling me that you are switching a job now.......I will then say, time management is very important - there are something simply cannot be done together at the same time in life (or else will be in great trouble), e.g. get a baby while working in big 4 audit in APAC.
2. If you even want to 陶瓷, a personal statement / research proposal should be already piece of cake (if one don't have any idea about the topic, 陶瓷 is useless; and if one have some idea, a research proposal is indeed not that time-consuming but important) |
