之前的帖子都在讨论C和D. 为什么是but are,是明白的。我不明白的地方就是E和D比较起来，为什么要排除E而留下D。我在做题的时候觉得，D比E差一点，因为E没有了they, 指代就比较明确了啊。

E里面but 标志着平行结构啊，but后面是are，跟谁平行呢？

是idiom的问题，这里可以直接查 Manhattan 的章节
becasue of + noun.  不过要区分 because of 和 due to 的用法
没记错的话 of 结尾的idiom一般直接加 noun，未检验。
指代的敏感也是对的，不过因为容忍度大，一般最后排除用。

(B) due to the reproduction or survival they enhance, but they are (they多余)
(C) because they enhance reproduction or survival, but (but带来歧义，可以修饰traitsare not A, but B，也可以修饰theyenhance A, but B)
(D) because they enhance reproduction or survival, but are (正确)
(E) because of enhancing reproduction or survival, but are (because只能加noun，这里加的是doing something)

这里的平行结构是：are not....but are的结构呢。就是不是严格意义上的。

due to ,之前，我有看到一牛牛说直接用due to＝caused by,来理解句子的逻辑意思就好。
