金融phd与会计PHD的收入大比拼！

看到好多大家讨论金融，会计PHD毕业的收入问题，我个人总结了一下，做了个表，发上来大家看看对不对？（仅限于faculty position)

我所知道的会计肯定不止这个数，我不知道楼主所说的“流”是怎么分的？

这么说吧，讲几个我知道的例子好了。

Columbia毕业的去的Yale，19万

Michigan毕业的去的Pittsburg, 15万

U of South Carolina 毕业的去的U of Mississippi, 13万

来了Western Kentucky University, 9万 （这个我非常确定，其实，这个学校的会计就是起薪9万，但肯定够不上三流学校）

其实。有时候比这个挺没意思的，毕竟都能同时申请两个专业的人很少。该申请什么还是申请什么嘛。不过我还是想把 U of South Carolina 的director给我的e-mail给大家看看好了，

The program is highly selective and graduates academically qualified Ph.D.s who teach and conduct scholarly research at major universities. Our recent graduates have accepted faculty positions at annual salaries exceeding $125,000.

我想U of South Carolina肯定够不上一流，甚至我觉得二流都有点玄。

补充说明一下，可能大家的感觉不一样， 我认识的许多朋友手头既有accounting offer又有finance offer。finance 公认高工资，而accounting 相对好学一些而且说工作比较好找。我的消息来源可能较窄，以上数字有待大家补充确认。希望可以给大家在最终确定学校前稍作参考。

在此学校级别指的是毕业后的工作所在的学校。一流：top 30, 二流：30-60， 三流：60-90，四-五流：100以后。则么划分也仅属个人观点。

2 tier: 160000

3 tier - 4 tier: 100000 - 140000

5 tier: 80000 - 100000

6 tier: 60000 - 80000

Accounting will not be much different

it is really useless to compare something like this. NO PAIN NO GAIN. Most of people, for sure, will agree that it is more difficult to study in Finance than Accounting.

请问大家Purdue accounting PhD 算top 30 or top 50? 个人观点认为1st tier, 指top10, 2nd tier 指top30, 3rd tier 指top 50. 不指恰当么。

The pay for accounting is a little bit lower than finance, but not that much difference. It is easy to get paid $150,000 for top 30 schools. U of Florida hired two fresh PhD last year - $150K. A PhD graduate in Wisconsin-Madison will go to MIT this year, starting salary $150K. Even some school ranked about 70-80 can pay $100K for fresh PhDs. All in all, it depends more on individuals. If you don't have papers, you might not get a slice of the pie.

that should be right. But personally, I feel it is pretty hard to get into a school of upper lier that your graduated school, even though with a nice paper

2 tier: Vanderbilt, ASU, Purdue, etc

3 tier: TAMU, Florida State, etc

4 tier: Lousiana Tech, etc

5 tier: regional university

6 tier: community college
