Recently there is a debate over the advantages and disadvantages of young children spending a great amount of their time practicing sports. Some people assert that spending a lot of time on activities is not benefit for children, while others believe that it is no harm for children to practice sports. As a matter of fact, this is a complex and controversial issue, so it is impossible for us to draw a universal conclusion. In the following discussion, I will present the advantages and disadvantages of the problem.

Firstly, children who spend lots of time on physical activities may not have enough time to focus on their academic study. They cannot settle down for a few hours to read books or solve the homework questions. For instance, my brother is a super fan of football. After school, he must go to play football with his friends until 8 o'clock. When he comes back, he is not able to carry out any homework, since he still immerses in the excitement of playing football. As a result my brother's academic performances so terrible that my parents and his teacher have to make a contrast, which says how much time he can spend on activities, in order to help him to enhance his study. Obviously, too much physical activity plays a negative role in children's education.

Secondly, physical activities help children to improve their physical condition, but too many games can probably result the body injuries, or they will feel exhausted after the long time practice. No better example can illustrate the point. For instance, there are many children suffer from medical problems that are caused by overload activities. From the local newspaper of medicine, hundreds of children turn to doctors, because they find that after loads of activities, they get sick easily, or feel loss of strength when they try to do sports or study.

Finally, although overloads of activities can be harmful to children, however, appropriate sports games enable children to avoid medical problems. Consequently, they are able to relax themselves and regain the energy of study through some sport. On the other hand, their parents will no longer worry about the health of their children.

In conclusion, taking much time in practicing sports includes more disadvantages than advantages. In addition, I would like to recommend parents should take care of the time, in which children spend practicing sports.
