所以when taken with the new drug 要跟在medication后面，如果原句改为there is a nonprescription medication that prevents the onset of nausea when taken with the new drug就不对了吧？

改写会产生歧义：原来when是that引导的定语从句中的时间状语从句，改写成上面的形式之后when可能是定语从句中的时间状语从句，也可能是主句的时间状语从句，产生歧义。
