Why GWD-9-Q6 picks D? Although choice C (a single group to maintain control over the production process) seems correct, it does not fully contain all the information in the passage. Consider the sentence "The commodities produced in these zones were extracted, processed, and transported entirely by members of a single group." Obviously, the extraction and transportion are not mentioned in choice C. Since C does not fully express the whole idea in the passage, it is not an perfect answer. Choice D is derived from one sentence which relates the problem of resource distribution and the inhibitants' solution in paragraph 1. "Given this unequal (15) resource distribution, highland Incas needed access to the products of lower, warmer climatic zones in order to enlarge the variety and quantity of their foodstuffs." As you can see from the sentence, "access" and "lower, warmer zones" are the key ideas. The ideas are summarized in choice D. My analysis suggests that you got to pay attention to eliminate the inaccurate choice in GWD. Theose seeming perfect choices are traps.
