关于逻辑的一道题不懂

Allthough compact cars make up only 38% of the vhicles in traffic, 48% of the cars that are followed too closily( tailgated) are compact. On the other hand, fewer than 27% of the cars tailgated are middle-sized, even though middle-sized cars make up 31% of the vechiles in traffic.

which of the follow, if true, most contributes to an explanation for the phenomenon above?

the answer is:
the shape of compact cars makes it easy for a tailgater to see far enough ahead around such cars to minimize the chanced of a rear-end collision.
