这题选什么？ A吗？

两个动词became和adopted需要连词吧。。这个later不是连词的嘛。。。所以我觉得是E吧

个人观点：1、同意lsMM的解释。2、不可把adopted理解成定语来修饰前面的主语名词，因为即使是定语也应该根据就近原则修饰western contries.

1.In recent years, Sideburns became increasingly popular through whole western countries, later（Sideburns)  adopted in Japan 后面这部分为独立主格。

2. E 中 后半部分 later (Sideburns became increasingly popular ) in Japan 不明白与前半句话的关系？？？？

后面如果为独立主格, 是否应该有个名词在adopted前面？避免修饰歧义（否则adopted 有就近修饰western countries的嫌疑），比如:

In recent years, Sideburns became increasingly popular through whole western countries,

a style later adopted in Japan 。

E，In recent years, Sideburns became increasingly popular through whole western countries，later  in Japan。

后面的later in Japan 为later Sideburns became increasingly popular  in Japan 的缩写吗？

最近这些年来，Sideburns 风行西方国家，之后更风行到(东方国家)日本。

暂时选E了，考试再细看。

我也觉得应该是E, 独立主格的标准格式 n.+ -ed 形式吧

如楼上所说，n.应该是不能省略的，如果是western contries，逻辑意思显然不对了

E吧,later in Japan是省略形式,因为n+become,不是相同的话可以省略么,所以这里就省略了Sideburns became increasingly popular

好像在比较结构里面才可以这么省的，这里凭什么省略主谓呢？

那想请教下，那个 later in japan在句子中作什么成份呢？ 如果是later  Sideburns became increasingly popular  in Japan的缩写那

Sideburns became increasingly popular through whole western countries， later  Sideburns became increasingly popular  in Japan。

由于 later 是副词不是连词，这两个句子就成了用“，”连接了，语法上不就有错了吗？
