With papers presented at AoM (especially for regular paper sessions), you have good chances to get into decent programs. I think you can try to target 30-50 schools. You may also want to apply for some top 15-30 schools, and probably with a few safe bets that range between 50-70.

So you are using social network, resource dependence theory, new institutional theory, learning perspective and/or RBV?

When writing SOPs, you would probably want to state the major theories you have been drawing on to show the admission committees that you know how to use appropriate theories to inspect the empirical phenomenon that you're interested in. Of course, some poeple are theory-driven while some others are phenomenon- or question-driven; if you fall into the later category, you don't have to stick to some specific theoretical frameworks, but at any rate it would be a plus to let the schools know that you know which theories would be good for which types of phenomenon and why.

Moreover, it should be a big plus to stress the fact that you have had solid statistics training and that you can actually do (even better, you have done) good empirical research.
