109 when people move to another country, some of them decide to follow the customs of the new country. Others prefer to keep their customs. Compare these two choices. Which one do you prefer? Support your answer with specific detail.

 

 

With the development of the new vehicle and the comunication of different countries, it seems quite common for people to immigtate to another country. We often face the dilemma of whether to follow the customs of the new country or not. With all aspects carefully considered, I think to “do in Rome as Romans do” would be a better choice.

When we move to a new environment, there are many advantages of following the local customs. Following the customs can help an outlander understand the culture there and blend into the society. For instance, if a chinese move to the USA, he will encounter a huge culture difference between China and USA. He can just stay with only a few chinese person and just keep his previous manner, but it is the worst choice, with doing that it become meaningless to move to an another country. However, if a person follow the customs of the new place, it will easy to make get a job and make friends with the native person.

 In addition, following the local customs can help you keep distance from trouble. For example, the way you show your enthusiastic will leave a impolite impression by misunderstanding. The difference of payment and body language between your motherland and the new country also may make you into trouble.

On the other hand, some traditional customs are really difficult to change, and change some of the traditional customs make you unhappy. These are perhaps the most important reasons why people who move to a new country do not like to follow the local customs.

In conclution, the benefits of following the customs of the new country is overweight the disadvantage. If we take the proper measure, we can live a happy life with the customs of the new country out of the motherland, such as spend Spring Festival with your chinese friends.
