if you cannot find a decent job right now and can afford this money, I think it is ok given the fact that it is almost impossible to get a lawyer job in US after your graduation.I heard that many LLM from average school but want to stay in US ends up doing paralegal jobs in chinese law firms.

Really?I hope I get get a job after graduation to support my life in US. I know it is hard to find a job in US law firm. So I think paralegal in Chinese law firm is not a bad choice, and I can gain some experience and several years later I can go back to China and find a decent lawyer job.Is that possible?

what is kent ranked right now? I cannot find it in any top 30 rankings. If you do some research, you will find that almost all US firms in China hire people who have top 20 law school LLMs/JDs

The ranking of Kent is your biggest enemy.

Paralegal job in a chinese law firm is not as rosy as you may think... it is a sweatshop.

Yeah . I admit the ranking of kent is not very satisfactoring. But I have to take my expense into consideration. My friend told me that there is more opportunities to find a job other than law area to saty in US. I hope to gain some experience for severla years and then go back to China. One more question, If I am a JD from Kent, is it any possible to find a job in US law firm. Than you.

Indeed it's a sweatshop. I know a Chinese LLM who used to work in a Chinese law firm in US not long ago. Guess how much the greed Chinese lawyer pay this LLM?

I think at the first two years, it will be surely a hard life and work. But what aboput one or two years later? Especially after I got the NY bar?

for a chinese graduating from a school like Kent, you have to be on law review and top 3% of the class to land a job in a decent law firm.

An education is like an investment, you got what you paid for (money and hard work). I would suggest you to apply for a better school next year.

Maybe it is just me, for some reason, LZ sounds like "how bad can an american school be". if that is the case, man, you have not seen anything yet.
