Overall, Bocconi is probably as good as Tier 3 or Tier 4 schools in our Placement Ranking.

INSEAD'S Tier 1 stature is beyond dispute. I glanced over its placement record for the Fin concentration, and can safely assert that it is as good as a top 10 program in North America so far as this concentration is concerned.

As the 2023-2024 application season is coming underway, we would like to once again earnestly remind all applicants that program choice is of utmost importance such that it could make or break one's academic future or even life.

Our forum is currently not as much an active or vibrant community as it was at the same time a year ago. Presumably, this is attributed to two reasons. On the one hand, some programs are reported to be scaling back to a certain extent for the coming academic year. On the other, the overall motivation for pursuing a Ph.D. seems to be waning somewhat amidst the dim job market prospects.

To emphasize, given the job market as it is, placements should be an overarching consideration throughout the application process ranging from program choice to offer choice.

Congratulations! Purdue's Tier 2 standing in The Placement Rankings is indisputable, whereas UTD is in Tier 3 (I do not expect it to leap to Tier 2 in the foreseeable future). With regard to Fin, many Purdue graduates have secured top R1 schools (e.g., CMU), which are beyond the reach of their UTD counterparts. Presumably, this comparison applies to other concentrations. More broadly and at the institutional level, Purdue is far ahead of UTD in almost all rankings (e.g., USNews and ARWU). Only a few years ago, UTD was an R2 institution.

By the way, I (stubbonly) stick to writing in English in the forum solely because doing so is easier for me and hence saves me time. Hope there has been no misunderstanding.

The forum is notably not as vibrant at this time of the admissions cycle as it was at the same time last year and earlier. Whereas allegedly there are reasons for this on the side of schools (e.g., scaling back on enrollment), we encourage more applicants to share their profiles and interview stories and report offers, particularly for the benefit of future applicants.

The Rutgers program does not yet measure up to a Tier 4 standing. It belongs to the upper bracket of Tier 5, though, along with such schools as Drexel, UTSA, and probably UNL. However, the Placement Rankings were compiled six years ago and therefore would need to be updated, especially with respect to schools in Tier 4 and Tier 5, including the program asked about here.
