Hello my friend. Yes, we have some advice here. On the one hand, dont say too many higher-ranked places, bc (if youre interviewing at lower ranked places) they may think you dont like them. On the other hand, dont say too many lower-ranked places, bc (if youre interviewing at Stanford, theyll assume that youre not good enough to go to a great school.)
So somehow, you need to split the difference there. Be smart. If a Stanford interview, say youre only looking in California. And obviously, Stanfords the best. If Wharton, say youre only looking at finance schools (CBS, Stern) and obviously Wharton is the best.
I always tell people to frame it in the genre of schools youre interviewing at, and that the one youre interviewing for is THE BEST.
At Yale for example, “you're looking at all places with non profit bents, but obviously Yale is the best,” etc. Make sense?
