为什么选c 解释不太看得懂

错了，答案是A，题目上给的解释是这样的：
说科学家过了40岁创造力就下降了。但是大多数过了40岁的科学家在自己的领域至少工作了15年了，所以这种单一的模式减少了创新思维的产生，问评价？A选项在说是否那些过了40岁但是高创新的科学家进入该领域晚，言下之意，是的话，那就说明文章的假设是对的，因为进入晚的还没到15年，所以还没失去创造力。如果假设是错的，那么说题干就是错误的，即便过了40岁但是还是创造力高，跟年龄没关系。
又看了一遍，还是不太明白

答案就是一方面不能解释而另一方面能解释的。
一方面：年龄大于40，不容易做出成就。
另一方面：进入领域太久，不容易做出成就。
A答案：年龄大于40还能有成就，这个第一个方面解释不了，但是后半句是转入新领域不久。所以另一个方面就解释了。

我觉得还是不对
A是说那些40岁以上有成就的人是不是大部分都被认为进入该领域晚。

如果是进入该领域晚，40岁以上有成就的，说明不是年龄大于40，不容易做出成就，而是进入领域太久，不容易做出成就。

如果是进入该领域不晚，40岁以上有成就的，说明既不是进入领域久，不容易做出成就，也不是年龄大于40，不容易做出成就。

我认为，题目中
conclusion：40岁以上的scientists没有什么creative work
两种explanations：1、年龄增长降低creative capacity
                          2、在single field干太久降低 creative capacity
问：哪个option可以很好的衡量出到底是选ex1 还是ex2

A说，看那些40岁以上有creative work的scientists是不是大部分都比其他scientists进入那个领域要晚。

A把 ex1中的年龄 和ex2中的 field 结合在一起，即只要回答这个问题，就知道哪个ex better了、

题干是两个Option  1：年纪因素； 2：从事时长因素
A是问：超过40岁仍然做出创意性工作的人是不是入行比大多数人要晚很多？
回答是：是--〉入行很晚-〉从事时长较短--〉2这个因素有影响
             否--〉入行早----〉从事时间较长--〉2这个因素没有影响
A这个答案至少可以确定2的决定作用，但是其他选项都两个因素间的选择没有影响，所以A选项最优。

对于答案A：如果回答YES， 说明大部分到了40岁仍有创造力的人工作年数还不够长， 所以是工作时间制约创造力。
如果回答NO， 说明大部分到了40岁仍有创造力的人并没有晚进入工作岗位， 所以不是工作时间影响创造力，但也不是年龄制约了创造力。


请问对于问题：”choosing between the competing explanations“， A的YES/NO可以回答该问题吗？尤其是如果回答NO， 根本没有做出任何选择阿， 只是说两者都不是， 但问题不是问“choosing between”嘛。
请教！
