一些建议/想法啊
- MBA跟master in real estate是完全不一样的体验。如果master是一个学位，MBA是一种life experience和career进步的大台阶，强烈建议申请MBA。而且读MBA也可以选很多real estate相关的课，并不与你的目标冲突，而出来后选择多的太多
- 申请MBA跟高数没关系啊，绝大多数工作跟高数也没关系。即便是金融绝大多数职位只用加减乘除
- 楼主的条件不错，我建议可以主申M7，放一两家S16保底。但是楼主帖子的标题先把GT的分数放出来，不知道是不是楼主觉得分数很重要。当然分数很好，但是MBA申请不怎么看GT分数的，过了760就行了，大家在一个起跑线上比essay

Dear Munian,
I don’t think you will be too old next year. And I don’t even think you will be too old in two or three years. So like I said you have a little bit the luxury of time. What do you prefer is the real question? Do you prefer an MBA? Sure, you can do that… Even apply for a top MBA is that’s for you.. Once again you have little to lose.

I would say still try and figure out what you really prefer (never mind what is harder) and go for that first… you can always go for your backup plan later.

真的是这样，酒店起薪太低，流动率大，酒店管理公司待遇还好，但是对新人又是及其不适合的。就算是这样，国际品牌的酒店每年还是能吸引大量应届生，包括学酒店管理的留学生进入这个行业，和大专生一起从基层干起。

Thanks for your detailed reply,  very inspiring to me. You're right, applying for both MBA & MS at the same time has made the whole thing complicated, but I'm still considering applying to both.

The problem is that I'm not really sure whether I can get into an S16 school. There're just too few people with hotel background getting into or even applying for top MBA programs. Frankly speaking, if one wants to pursue a career in hotel industry, any Master degree including MBA can already make him overqualified for most positions. (That's also one reason why I want to change to a broader industry like RE)So...I don't have enough sample of previous cases to assess the success rate of my application!!  BTW, I do have some volunteer / extra-curricular experience at university, but not outstanding.

Say, if it's still hard for me to get into a top MBA program by applying next year, maybe I can apply for both MBA & MS this year? since I'm at the best age for MS now, and I'm confident to get an offer from some top school. Meanwhile, I still have a chance to realize my MBA dream. However, what if I apply for MS next year? Maybe I'll be a bit too old..

Well...The above are just some of my recent thoughts, hope can receive your comments.

同样在香港上班，同样纠结HKUST MBA的和US Master in Real Estate的路过。

听过HKUST的info session, 感觉program弄得不错。只是LZ我在港7年，主观情绪上很想换个环境....

加油，感觉essay和考试的难度不在一个数量级
