求定位, Cornell & Emory?

背景：男，28岁。墨尔本大学本科。GPA3.3。GMAT 720. 国内某四大 2.5年工作经验，目前一美国服装品牌（上市）内部审计1.5年。

Targeting: S16 or Top 20.

Career Goal: 目前是想走General Management的路子，觉得金融业的工作节奏和氛围与性格并不是很符合，还是想down to earth 走偏实业的路子。当然，入学之后通过学习，接触更多的人，有什么新想法，也有可能。

自我分析：审计背景的关系，比较注重细节，也比较注重ethical和compliance方面的要求。注重独立思考和不同意见，以获得最佳工作方法。做过小团队leader，没有大项目管理经验。全英文工作环境（听说读写），所以语言没有问题。

请坛友看看背景是否差不多...想拼一下Yale的SOM又觉得自己是不是想多了？

目前Plan：
A: YALE-SOM (Ivy) CORNELL-JOHNSON (Ivy) Virginia-Darden (就业）
B: UCLA-Andersen（有类似背景的前辈成功拿奖过去） Emory （个人喜好）

由于精力关系，想把A档的学校限定为1所，真心求教建议。

Hi there! Good to hear from you again. Where are you in your Ross essays? That deadline is coming up QUICKLY, so I hope you're working your way through those. They definitely are not easy. As for your question, dude, going to the gym is indeed... bland. That's something you enjoy doing, but what value does that bring to the table? What does that tell the adcom about you, dude? It says you like to be fit. But is there anything special about it ?Unique? Have you turned it into more than just going to exercise? If not, I don't think it's something worth mentioning. Is there anything else you do outside of work? Anything you're passionate about? The reason activities are important to the adcom is because it gives them a glimpse into who you are as a PERSON -- what you care about, and what you can bring to the campus community. Especially at schools like Ross, Cornell and Tuck, which put a biiiig emphasis on their "community."  So think hard of the things you love and dedicate your time to. THOSE are the things you'll want to write about.

Thanks for the advice. I would go for Ross for R1 (hope I can get the recom letter), and other schools for R2 including Tuck, Cornell, Emory, Fuqua, so that I have 5 in the basket.

I was in badminton club at school and now go to gym for after-work activity. Badminton club i can think of sth, but for the gym, would it  seems to be quite common and bland to put in the essay?

So it looks like you have some good stuff in your profile!
A very excellent GMAT, studies in an English speaking country with good grades, and nice work experience. If you have some good extras (like volunteer work, extra currics) then that will really help to round out your profile. I also think that your goal of aiming for Top 20 schools should be pretty reasonable!

I do know time is limited, buuuuut you should try and apply to as many schools as you can, and 4-7 is totally normal.
