As people rely more and more on technology to solve problems, the ability of humans to think for themselves will surely deteriorate.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.

Technologies have eased us in many ways, from as simple as calculators helping us to calculate, to as sophisticated as sending missiles to replace manpower in an war or attack. But it definitely did not deteriorate our ability to think. Instead, technology allows us to think more creatively and it honed our problem solving skills. .
First of all, we can never neglect that it is the high intelligence and the expertise of human beings that engendered these technologies. Technologies in return helped us to think more efficiently. The revolutionary invention of computer is an example which provides us a platform to exploit our creativity and problem solving skills. Through computer programming, we created software tools to help generating thousands of simulations in testing a statistic model, we designed facebook and whatsapp to connect us together, and we wrote websites for online shopping. All these activities requires us to study and think profoundly. With technology at the frontier of solving problems and executing orders, the intelligent human brains are the masters at the backstage to design algorithms, analyze issues and manipulate the machines.
While computers has facilitated our thinking directly, there are many inventions indirectly helped us in thinking. Means of transport like airplanes, trains and cars saved our time in commuting to work, and thus, time is saved for tasks which need us to think more. Also, the technology of broadcasting university lectures online openly allows anybody to study higher level courses which again fostered our thinking. Again, with computers and printers replacing handwriting, manpower is saved for more sophisticated work. Without the help of technology, we will need to do more mechanical work and have less time and energy for thinking.
Moreover, The creation of technology ineluctably broadened our knowledge database since our fields of study are broader than ever before, from looking for cure for AIDS to exploring the whole universe. Indubitably, this situation has changed our education system subtly. For example, a youngster in the 19 centuries was likely to be taught about how to use type-writers but now the younger generation are generally taught more profound subjects like engineering and computing and spend more years in schools than their ancestors. Indeed, tertiary education is found more prevailing now than decades ago and the courses are broader and more difficult. Simply because students have to learn about these high level technologies, it fostered their thinking.
We resort to technology to solve problems and in this process, we are exploiting our thinking ability. Hence, it is fallacious to say that our thinking ability is deteriorated because of technology.
