Youngpeople today more likely to give time and effort improving the world than youngpeople were at the past.
由于很久没有动笔写东西,速度甚慢,求批评! 60min 511words

Do you notice that many educators debate fiercely on the topic of people born in 90s who are at the height of their youth and vigor. Some of them insist that young people nowadays are full of innovation and desire to make the world better with some influence changes. On the contrary, the others claim that the youth today lack the concern about their society even about their families, not to mention the whole world. When it comes to me, I definitely fall into the second category.

To begin with, it is obvious that now parents pay more attention to their children than parents did in the past. As a result, many of the young people are spoiled and develop selfish characters. The only thing they think about is themselves. Take a glance of my cousin who is 18year-old,as an adult, hardly can he be responsible for his own behavior. Once in a rainy autumn day, we had a trip in Hangzhou to climb the mountain there. Careless as I was, I slipped and broke my ankle. It was really hurt that I could almost bear the pain and cried out. Guess what my cousin did? He just stood there watching at my painful face and said ‘You really turns me off’. Then he turned around, kept walking and let me behind. What a selfish boy he is. How can people like him to improve the world?

Moreover, young people have a qualified living standard which let them satisfy with their current status. Unlike young peoplein the past, they get less motivation to spare their effort to perfect the world. Dated back, there was a very famous student campaign called the May 4th movement in China. Many young people gathered on the street, shouting and proclaiming, in order to gain their rights. Although many brave young men died in the event, they really pushed the revolution in the later years. In nowadays society unfair is still resisting, but no young man will stand out to represent the mass-based and no one has the desire to improve.

Last, today’s young people cannot bear the hardships. The life they want is some kind of luxuriant like that in the palace. They enjoy the fruits of elder generation and pay no thanks to the society. For example, many graduates want a job which is comfortable, less work pressure and high salary. In the team work, they usually pick the lightest things to do. Afterwork, going to the bar is the most favourite activity. Seldom do they learn more knowledge or skills to improve their ability and to promote their career. They even do not give effort improving themselves how can they attribute to the world.

From what has been discussed, I draw the conclusion that the youth today cannot be responsible to make our world better.Unless they can have grateful hearts, improve their own abilities and care about people around them, they will not be able to enhance greater living standard and make a bright future for the next generation.

Teachers are those people who sacrifice all their time to educate others. Most of them devote their whole lives in distributing knowledge whom we all should show respect to. However, nowadays many students with bad manner perform terribly toward their teachers which cannot be expected and allowed in the past.

Dating back to nineteen century in China, teachers were very scarce sources. One teacher almost needed to be responsible for two or three classes thus the time for individual instruction divided by the base number of students. It is the rarity that let teachers had higher status among nineteen century. Every student at that time was eager to have chances to communicate with his or her teacher. They precious every second on the class, asking questions, participating in discussion and absorbing knowledge. Grave expression came into everyone's face.

In comparison, today's students do not treat their teachers like this way. Absence from class and cheating in the exam become some sort of commonplace. Take a glance at my roommate Jessica, she always drops her classes. Once I asked her 'Why are you absent from classes so frequently?'.'Well, the classes are really boring. I can use the time to play with my friends and attend many parties' she said without any sense of guilty. The thing she ignores is that how hard and painstaking teachers prepare for the class. If she were the teacher, seeing half of the classroom was empty how disappointed would she be? Moreover, cheating in the exam, a behavior of lacking honesty becomes much more common among students. When teachers are supervising the exam, they will at least find two or three students cheating in the exam. They may take this as their responsibility for not conducting students to be honest.

In addition, some students become bad to worse even make some tricks on their teachers. One of my teachers was unfortunately suffered from it. She is our chemistry teacher who just graduated from university. The first day she showed up in our classroom was really a tragedy. She was stumbled by a broom as soon as she stepped into the classroom. Seeing how embarrass she was, some of the naughty boys laughed loudly and sarcastically. There is no worse disrespect than this.

It is totally chilling phenomena which should catch parents' eyes to introspect how to educate their children to behave well. Teacher is a noble profession which needs everyone's respect.

Both the reading and the speech focus on the function of mega buildings of Chaco Canyon. The former believes that there are three possible theories to explain the useage of the buildings whereas the latter cast doubt on each of the theories.

To begin with, the first theory is that Chaco structures were residential which could hundreds of residents. Nevertheless, the lecture argues that if they were for living propose, there should be a lot of fire places and that ,as the evidence shows, the massive building could contain hundreds of families but only ten fire places were found at the sites which could not have been residential use.

In addition, there comes the second theory that the buildings could archive food supplies. In contrast, the lecturer demonstrates deep opposition to such a claim, by stating that excavation at the sites does not show any provement of maize remains or maize containers. There is absent evidence to support the second theory either.

At last, another probable explanation is that these houses were ceremonial centers with the finding of broken pots. Conversely, as the speaker affirms, other materials were found beside the broken pots such as sand, stone, construction tools which strongly improve that these were rubbish threw away by the workers after the buildings were finished, turning out that the third theory is groundless.

10.10独立Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is not necessary for university students to attend classes as long as they can pass their examinations.

Many elements in modern society such as wealth, reputation, status and authority make people fans of utilitarianism. This worldwide trend also influences many university students who by all means to get high scores and ignore basic morality. Can you imagine that in a lecture hall for one hundred students to have lesson only half of the seats are taken? What a disrespect to professors! As for me, i strongly recommend that even if students get high scores should they take part in the whole curriculum.

First thing i intend to mention is mutual respect. Professors in front of the platform not only give us lectures to fulfill his or her education schedule but also, from deep inside their hearts, expect us to absorb useful knowledge. The best thing to thanks for their hardworking is the serious and upright attitudes toward their lessons. It reminds me of a young teacher in my university who is about my age. The class she teaches is engineering english which contains plenty of difficult vocabulary. The lack of educational experience makes her class a little bit boring. As a result, more and more students decide to learn it by themselves. Once there were only ten people in the classroom, a strong shock that the young girl could barely afford. She cried and started to doubt her career. It is too cruel to a person who just started her job.

Moreover, the context on test papers will never cover whole knowledge, demonstrated by professor during the class. Students who only care about the score will definitely miss some fantastic parts of their university. Take a glance to my flavourite teacher, Chinese history teacher, who is a humorous and handsome man. On his class, he never talk too much about what is printed on the textbook, instead he usually tell vivid stories to make us understand history events more easily and thoroughly. What's more, he will bring some interesting staff to the classroom such as the out-of-print coins of his family which passed from generation to generation. It is really fortunate that i can see the precious coins with my own eyes.

In addition, absence from classes gives students less opportunities to meet different people and make more friends. Social life plays a very important role in university life. It is common to see that many extremely outstanding students do almost everything by themselves, having a meal, doing exercise and going to library which is not because the people surround them dislike them but because people do not know them. They seldom appear on the classroom. Even their classmates cannot recognize them on the way to school. Friends are essential for everyone right? Can high scores release your feel of loneliness and give you happiness?

With all the aspects carefully taken into consideration, why not attending your classes? Do not treat it as some duty or responsibilities. Treat it as enjoyment and communication. So called professors can give you knowledge more than you can imagine.

Both the reading and the speech discuss whether dinosaurs were endotherms. The former believes that they were due to polar species, underneath leg position and haversian canals in bones whereas the latter casts doubt on such a belief.

To begin with, the reading passage holds that only endotherms can live in extreme cold weather. Thus the existence of polar dinosaurs proves that they were endotherms. Nevertheless, the lecture maintains(mentions 不清楚你是要用這個字嗎?) that polar area was much warmer than nowadays for animals not endotherms to survive. And then, even if the condition was really cold, dinosaurs could move to a warmer place or hibernate which proves dinosaurs were not endotherms.

What's more, the article posits that underneath leg makes running efficient which is a sign of endotherms. In contrast, the lecturer demonstrates deep opposition to such a claim, by stating that the position of leg did not  provide energy for running, but supported more weight as the body grew much larger. Being larger was an advantage for dinosaurs to survive.(這句很順順暢耶我在寫的時候就是在思索這個部分)

Finally, the author lists that the haversian canals found in dinosaurs' bones is another strong evidence. Conversely, as the speaker affirms, dinosaurs do have haversian canals but they also have growth ring which indicates that dinosaurs did not grow rapidly and consitently. In some cooler condition, they stopped growing or grew slowly which is definitly a characteristic of animals that are not endotherms.

Agree or disagree: Your job has greater happiness than your social life.

In modern society, we take it for granted that everyone needs a job which becomes an indivisible part of life.As we all know, we cannot make a live without money and the only way to earn money is working. But does it bring us happiness? I seriously doubt it. Instead, I am more willing to believe that social life and communication is the source of happiness.

The first thing I want to mention is that job is everything but happiness. Job can make us wealth; job can give us status and reputation; job can give us more authority; but job also brings us more burden and pressure. Take a glance of my father who was a moderate and gentle person. Loads of innovation programs, experiments and work task push him became a heavy smoker. No matter how many times my mother and I persuade him to get rid of the addiction on cigarettes does not make any action. What's more, his health condition is getting worse; he is coughing all the time. Therefore job caused health issues  instead of bringing a positive impact on my dad.

On the other side, social life is a comfort for rapid living path. Whenever I feel upset and overwhelming, I will call my friends to hang out, maybe just going to the cafe, sitting for a whole afternoon, chatting about the news happened around me or having a cup of coffee to refresh myself. The time I spend with my friends is almost the happiest moment in my memory. During the time, not only my pressures released, but I also learn to listen to other people. Once my friend Jesscia was frustrated by the failure in her final exam. I comforted her and gave her reference all I can. Finally, I saw beautiful smile reappeared on her face and somehow our friendship was enhanced.

Furthermore, social life has a magic power to bring someone important into your life such as a wonderful boyfriend or girlfriend, a prominent skiing partner or a prominent model. For me, social life introduced the most significant teacher,my dance teacher who I met in a holiday class into my life. She is a kindhearted mid-age woman spending nearly every minute of her life on education. Every time I have dancing problems, she always willing to demonstrate the right gesture to me patiently. Moreover, she is far more than a teacher but a parent. Sometimes after class hour, she would invite me to stay and have dinner with her family, treating me like her own child. Thanks to the holiday class, I have a second brilliant ‘mother’.

With all the aspects carefully taken into consideration, don’t you think social life is the origin of pleasure? Try to meet more people, make more friends and participate in sports game, etc. Thus, you will find that despite dull jobs life is full of colorful events and fantastic surprise.
