4.18 It is better to spend money on something that lasts a long time, such as an expensive piece of jewelry, than on something that provides a short-term pleasure, such as a vacation.   [ 514words]

      How do you spend money on something lasting a long time such as clothes and something with a short time joy such as a vacation? Some people prefer to the former, because it seems valuable to hold these things for a long time. And others like to pick the later, for they enjoy the concentrate feeling about a short but high level happiness. That is, they have different views on value. In my opinion, I rather prefer spending money on a short time pleasure due to some high influence, useful accumulation, and my friend's experiences.

     In the first place, you can find the high influence in even a short time education. Some people like to pay money in the short time cultivations such as computer train, which is more effective,  instead of buying books and learning by themselves for a long time.  For instance, the ESL in America is very helpful to people whose native language is not English. In fact, I have spent a year in American's ESL and learned speaking, listening, writing, and structure, which improved my English from level three to level six. And now I can communicate with Americans easier than most of my friends who have never taken the ESL classes. So, even though the teaching only lasted one year, the influence will be much better than you read some English books for ever.

     Second, some short time experiences such as traveling are very important to a person's life. During visiting different places, people would  enjoy the wonderful landscapes, hear abundant historical stories, and taste various amazing cultures, all of which accumulate your knowledge. A report, Tourism Science of European, shows that a family took children travelling globally. Due to so these experiences that their children even can teach lots of customs lessons in College. On the contrary, most of their children's peer cannot do that. That is, the advantages is worth on short-time vacations.

     Moreover, maybe something lasting a long time obstructs a person's development. For example, Huang xiao, one of my friends, had graduated from a famous university for two years with good scores. We all thought that he could make a good living wandering from a small city to a bigger one such as Shanghai to develop his dream career, but he did not. Because his family bought a big house for him in the small city, he felt that it was difficult to decide whether go to Shanghai or stayed in hometown. As a result, he delayed the deadline to accept an offer from Shanghai because of  his hesitation. If he invest the money in finding a good job in big city but not a house in small one, he would have the chance to pursue a better career.

     In conclusion, I think it is better to spend in short-time invest than something holding a long time. That is, people can enjoy the quickly rise in English during the short-time lessons in ESL. They also can get much information and joy from the many short travels. And some long time items like a house may disturb your beautiful future, which is not worth to hold. So, people would take part in some useful short-term things and then find their happiness in them.

10.08 _ Colleges or Universities should offer more courses to prepare students for the future before they start working.


     Following the fast development of global trade around the world, more and more students choose the colleges or universities to raise their abilities to get a good position. In that situation, these educational institutions also adjust their current courses to fit the increasing demands for the various working. Some people think a school has to decrease the courses in order to give more free time to student to practice by themselves, but others suggest take more courses for students. In my opinion, the colleges or universities offer more courses to practice students for the job will benefit them because of  the social communication, the useful technology and the previous working experiences.

     As we know, the social communication is so important that we can be mentioned all around. Due to the companies easily accepting employee with nice social abilities, the colleges or universities could add some special courses how to improve social communication. For instance, in my department of the University, we have some classes of Business Communication including abundant cases of realistic problems during working. It illustrates several ways to get well along with others, how to make attention to around environment and even how to argue with your boss when you meet troubles. These classes support us useful experiences before working. As a result, when we looking for job, we can show the good social communication than other competitors. The raise rate of employment in our department is a good evidence.

     Second, another key point whether or not you will be employed is the current useful technologies. This requirement is obviously important in engineering working. If you can control the newest technologies which are usually a company wanted, you have a big chance to get this position. So the university had better assign lots of advanced courses to students instead of some old ones. My sister's university had spent much more money to transfer amount of old courses to newest cases recently, they not only give up the out of time's text books, but also invited many big companies advanced staff to give special lectures to students. After that, when my sister undergraduated, she found a good job easily than former undergraduates.

     Moreover, university can also put internship between the sophomore even fresh students because it can suggest students directly what is the realistic working and what is the necessary to learn. Obviously, the study in school cannot separate from the realistic working. Making the students know that before they graduate is benefit them more. When I was in university, we were arranged to a big company to make a long time internship for three months. This long term class taught me what was the real working competition. I learnt how to use complex copy machine, how to write a formal document, how to make a touch with a new customer and how to type a emergency Email as fast as possible. And the most important, the leader of the company gave me a oral offer to welcome my join after I graduated, which mean I got a job previously. Thus, this internship can help students more in their working.

     Above all, I think the colleges or universities had better support some classes to help students do better in their future working. Students can learn more from various courses such as the courses of social communication, newest technologies and some internships. All of these can help students get more advantages in their future working. Fortunately, there are more and more educational institutions concern this and attribute certain finance to improve it. Following the increasing competition of position in the future, we can guess there will come up with a new type of education.
