Since it has become known that several of a bank’s top executives have been buying shares in their own bank, the bank’s depositors, who had been worried by rumors that the bank faced impending financial collapse, have been greatly relieved. 一直搞不懂这道题的conclusion是什么，个人总觉得是overoptimistic，但是看了解释，貌似完全错了，选的答案也和正确答案刚好相反。求指教

这道题目我的理解是，第一句和第二句之间明显有转折的意思，而DE并没有体现这种相反的方向。

关于D，这个explanation 指的是对最开始那句，It has been known that高级主管买公司股份这个现象的解释，我们不能理解成高级主管买股份是因为他们被知道They have been known...他们买股份有个什么目的，而应该直接是他们因为要分散谣言。

我反而觉得E更有可能。不过OG说作者并没有要解释现象，只是想削弱Deposits的推理，这个从main conclusion是 deposits 的reason overoptimic也可以看出来。

个人愚见：其实我觉得D选项的第二句的表述不正确。the second gives the explanation that the argument seeks to establish.   尤其是后面这个定语从句，that the argument seeks to establish,意思是argument seeks to establish the explanation, argument肯定不是为了establish一个解释，而应该而是establish一个conclusion或者一个position。同见OG13 CR76的正确选项D，the first and second each provide evidence in support of the position that the argument seeks to establish.
所以个人觉得，若是把原选项改为the second gives the explanation to support the conclusion that the argument seeks to establish.就应该可以

我个人也是这个逻辑，但是我觉得会不会是段一解释的The first describes the circumstance that the argument as a whole seeks to explain. 这是一个小的结论（rumor is false）的解释，不是作者整篇文章都在讨论的conclusion（overoptimistic）.

想再请教下D选项中关于BF2的部分，“the second gives the explanation that the argument seeks to establish.”首先，the arguement seeks to establish的其实就是conclusion，即overoptimistic，而BF确实是对其的解释啊，为什么overoptimistic呢，是因为bankers是故意用购买公司股票的形式来打消公众的疑虑。所以我觉得D选项没有错啊？
