[作文互改] 有点着急,这个argument应该怎么写,求拍

The following appeared in a memo to the board of directors of Bargain Brand Cereals.

"One year ago we introduced our first product, Bargain Brand breakfast cereal. Our very quickly drew many customers away from the top-selling cereal companies. Although the companies producing the top brands have since tried to compete with us by lowering their prices and although several plan to introduce their own budget brands, not once have we needed to raise our prices to continue making a profit. Given our success in selling cereal, we recommend that Bargain Brand now expand its business and begin marketing other low-priced food products as quickly as possible."

Write a response in which you discuss what questions would need to be answered in order to decide whether the recommendation and the argument on which it is based are reasonable. Be sure to explain how the answers to these questions would help to evaluate the recommendation.

In the memo, the arguer recommends that Bargain Brand now expand its business and begin marketing other low-priced food products as quickly as possible. To support the view, the arguer cites the following as evidence: low prices of Bargain Brand breakfast cereal quickly drew many customers away from the top-selling cereal companies. The argument seems to be well-presented and reasonable at first glance; however, I am afraid that the facts cited by the arguer might have multiple explanations, which makes the argument unpersuasive. The author need to provide information about the marker share and efficient evidence to prove there is no threat from competitors’ actions of lowering price to Bargain Brand’s products.

First and foremost, the arguer confuses the concepts of absolute value and relative value. He only mentions about that low prices quickly drew many customers away from the top-selling cereal companies, but he does not provide any information about the market occupancy or profits of the cereal products. It is surely a success to seize market share which is already taken by other companies; however, to ensure the survival and healthy development, the company should strengthen its market position to a considerable market share, which is especially important for company which produces low price products to gain profits. The arguer should make investigation about the market situation to assess the market occupation of the products.

Furthermore, in the memo, the arguer mentions that companies producing the top brands have since tried to compete with us by lowering their prices and although several plan to introduce their own budget brands, but he does not mention a word about the countermeasure about this. Since we know that the main advantage of Bargain Brand cereal is its low price from the information provided by the memo, it is possible that the customers who have changed their purchase intention will change again for that the original companies are lowering the price of their products. Unless he can provide sufficient evidence to prove such actions taken by competitor have no threat to Bargain Brand, it is unwise and imprudent to make a decision that the company should expand its business as quickly as possible.

To sum up, after pointing out so many obvious flaws in the argument, we can say the evidence cited by the arguer to support the argument can hardly be relied on. Before reaching a final conclusion and avoiding undesirable risks of the decision, the arguer should make comprehensive investigations on the market occupation, assess the threat of the competitors’ actions to Bargain Brand’s products and weigh the advantages and disadvantages of expanding business.

你写的两点是对的,一是该店的真实盈利情况,也许只是小利,而且顾客虽然很多,但比起顶尖商店,是否必然占尽优势。二是,顶尖商店采取的新措施,对该店的顾客和盈利有无影响,题目中不得而知。三是,不可匆忙扩大,也不可轻易向其他的领域扩展,在没有做出对潜在客源和盈利的充分评估之前。
