82. Colleges and universities should require their students to spend at least one semester studying in a foreign country.

Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the recommendation and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, describe specific circumstances in which adopting the recommendation would or would not be advantageous and explain how these examples shape your position.

提纲：1.出国留学最好在自己语言、专业知识、经济等各方面条件都具备时再进行。谈谈好处。。。
    2. 强制实行的话，出国的费用如何处理，政府不可能全部承担游学的费用，对学生家庭是一个不小的负担，故学生往往会选择费用消费较低的国家，选择范围大大减少，如此，了解不同文化、丰富阅历等目的就大打折扣。
    3. 价值不大的出国游学侵占学生较多的学习时间，对学生课业、学分等的干扰很大。
观点: 支持不强制性的出国游学，等到学生的人生阅历、经济条件等各方面都成熟的时候自行安排会更现实；学校在增长学生阅历的这一方面可以采取邀请别国学者讲学进行学术交流等。

To begin with, studying abroad is beneficial to students not only in professional fields but also in individual experience. When getting ready in spoken language which would guarantee the normal life in a foreign country, when prepared with the indispensable professional knowledge, a necessary condition for academic communication, and when students could afford the enormous expense to maintain the basic life broad, they could improve the academic ability and learn the different technology and methods in a specific field. And they could also experience disparate cultures which would expand the students’ sphere in their lives.

However, if all the students are required to learning abroad coercively, there appear several problems, such as the large quantity of expense to poor families. The government could not undertake all the cost of studying abroad for all the students, then it becomes a heavy burden for these families. We can suppose that in order to have the experience abroad but also considering the economic condition, most students would be more likely to go the countries where they could afford their life. So the choices of destination countries for students is diminished drastically and the aim to have students exuberant experience would be also impaired.

In addition, if students have had an albatross in their colleges or universities, then spending great amount of time to study abroad would lead students to falling behind the class. For instance, I have a classmate who has travelled to Singapore for one semester studying and after returning she had to make up all the lessons during her absence. It was so a tremendous load that she had to spend an addition year to achieve the prescript academic credit and postponed the graduation time. But she said she had not learned the anticipatory knowledge and technology in Singapore as they had the similar condition with our country. Then this experience may seem to not worth her absence of so many classes.

In summary, acquiring the experience of studying abroad may contribute to the further development of students. Nevertheless, colleges and universities should not force the recommendation unless all aspects such as personal cognition in their specialized fields, and the economical conditions are mature. It ought to depend on the different situation of students and  colleges and universities should encourage students choose an appropriate opportunity to go abroad for further studying. Besides, colleges and universities could also invite some foreign scholars to make a speech which also benefit the students.
