Thank you soooo much!! So you are from mainland China right? Could you share a little bit about your background when you apply? I am so curious about what kind of students they will admit~~ It's ok if it is inconvenient for you.
I plan to apply for Strategy of Purdue Ph.D for Fall 2012, I currently login in the application system. I have some questions and need your help.
1) I heard from a prof. in your shool that around 20-30 students will apply each year and 2-3 will be admitted, is it true?
2) Purdue Strategy is quite econ oriented, and real option theory is preferred, so are many courses on maths required?
3) What is the average of GMAT and Toefl, and do they like Chinese students? And Do they already have some "aiming" students?
Thank you for your help!!

1. I don't know how many apply but it is true that usually we have 2-3 incoming students in the program every year.
2. Actually real option theory is not a hot topic recently. Although two of our professors have published in this topic several years ago, you don't have to follow that direction once you are in the program. You need to take at least 15 credits for the methods or "math" courses. If you have strong econ or math background, they usually expect you to take more advanced courses. Otherwise, you have other less stressful options. You can find the detailed information on the website. In any case, it's the choice of your own and your advisor's.
3. I don't know the average GMAT and TOEFL. Obviously the higher the better. Currently all students in residence are international and two of us are Chinese (one from taiwan). So I guess at least it is not an disadvantage to be a Chinese applicant.
FYI, in the last four years or so, all students in the program have a master degree before they applied.
