But that prediction would not have adversely affected the dollar had it not been for the government's huge budget deficit的意思是不是没有财政赤字的话 prediction就没有负面影响？ 是的话，但答案说的是在赤字之前，prediction 就导致降低了，不就是有负面影响了吗？反对了前提呀。。

啊，我觉得吧，题目的意思是说：政府赤字——》PREDICTION——》货币贬值
所以要WEAKEN这个推理过程呢，就是说在赤字之前呢，PREDICTION就导致了货币的编制，于是不是由于赤字的原因了~

是要weaken呀，可是这个D是否定了文章的前提呀，前提就是没有赤字的话，预测也不会有影响呀，可是答案说 没有赤字，预测也有影响
