The figure above shows the dimensions of a semicircular cross section of a one-way tunnel.The single traffic lane is 12 feet wide and is equidistant from the sides of the tunnel.If vehicles must clear the top of the tunnel by at least ½ foot when they are inside the traffic lane, what should be the limit on the height of vehicles that are allowed to use the tunnel?

楼主,第一题给你OG12的解释:
The remainder is 9 when x is divided by y,so x=yq+9 fo some positive integer q. Dividing both sides by y gives x/y=q+9/q. But, x/y=96.12=96+0.12
Thus,q=96 and 9/y=0.12
9+0.12y
y=75

我是这样想的,x/y=a+9; x/y=96.12
96.12y-9=ay;其实a就是96. 所以y=75.

X=96.12Y , 96 is a integer, thus the remainder=0.12Y=9 Y=75

A.96
B.75
C.48
D.25
E.12
这一题,虽然我看了答案也不是很清楚为什么,但是我知道应该怎么做,我做这种题目的方法就是:用ABCDE各个选项除以0.12,结果是整数的就是正确选项
