CMU means 100% placement and at least 80-100K base -- by 会员 youayou (2011/2/2 23:15:16)
When it comes to the field of technology, ability talks. Do focus on the quality of the program. especially if you are not good at it before -- by 会员 LIUYUE0027 (2011/2/2 23:29:07)
That's absolutely wrong. More than half MISM/MSIT students have no solid programming experiences before or even not majored in CS/SE. The placement is still guaranteed.
If you ever interviewed in US, you will find not many companies would ask you about detail of J2EE or some larger frameworks or very tricky questions in practical, like ones in China. Most companies focus on basic thing like Data Structure, Algorithm and fit questions. Many non-IT companies even ask no technical questions (like some banks and leadership programs) These interviews don't require many years experiences in practical programming but mostly base on interview preparation. Therefore more interviews means more practice and more chances to land an offer.
Think about how many companies hire in CMU. That's literally every large technology firm in US and every banks/large corps. corporation. The smartest CS kids in CMU only target at a few companies like FB/MSFT/GOOG. You still get tons of opportunities. Not sure about RPI. |
