GWD1-16语法题求解

Soaring television costs accounted for more than half the spending in the presidential campaign of 1992, a greater proportion than it was in any previous election.

A.a greater proportion than it was

B.a greater proportion than

C.a greater proportion than they have been

D.which is greater than was so

E.which is greater than it has been

这道题大概是明白的
只是我看到了两种答案，一个是B，一个是C
开始也选的是C
不知道C是错在哪呢~~

一直对这种比较的有些模模糊糊的
不知道怎么还原理解得比较快解题也会比较快？

不知道如果 C项后面改成 had been 会不会就是选C 呢？
总觉得得改成这样

首先排除d，e，which只带1992还是前面的presidential campaign，不明确，排除。C时态不对。A后面was不对，因为前面主句用的是accounted，用错了所以，相对说，b是最好的答案。

我做的时候，是比较A、B、C三个选项，A、C错误主要是因为时态不对，由于前半句是"accounted for ", 所以后半句是过去的过去，应该用"had done", 过去完成时。

比较的对象是Soaring television costs accounted for more than half the spending 简单的说就是proportion, 并不是television costs。是拿costs占spending的比例来做比较。所以我不认为c里面应该用they。

其次我觉得B不对是因为比较大双方一个是1992年的proportion另一个是in any previous election。proportion和eleciton不能比较。A的话就是porportion和it was in any previous election比较，是porportion比较porortion。

还请nn来传道授业解惑
