In my understanding, only the business schools with doctoral programs can be called research schools, though teachong schools also have some research requirement.
In teachong schools you often have a very heavy teaching load, which will take up most of your time. Also, resources in teaching schools are limited. You may not have access to the database you need for your research. You may not have enough funding for conference travel etc.
It's a myth. There are fewer teaching schools any longer: most teaching schools have research requirement, while research schools start to focus on teaching quality. -- by 会员 benxu (2010/6/16 4:07:12)
