纠结到要爆炸啦，向大家求助！！！！！！！MSF选校

申请2010 Fall MSF的，背景很一般，G720 T102 IELTS7 GPA3.6 证券公司和银行实习各一个，无paper无牛推
申请了WUSTL，Purdue，Vanderbilt，Case，Tulane，UMD，Brandeis，Rochester
WUSTL第一轮就被拒
普度看重工作经验，无疑问也被拒
范德堡无面试被拒
凯斯第二轮被waitinglist至今
Tulane一月份面试后AD
UMD第二轮不到一个月无面试拿到AD
Brandeis至今无消息，是第二轮，估计杯具
Rochester申请的也比较晚，希望不大
现在的情况就是需要从Tulane和UMD里面选一个，毕竟Tulane6月底开学，再不做出决定恐怕Visa会被耽误，所以向版上广大人民群众求助
帮帮小弟吧，UMD MSBF or Tulane MFIN
下面是我的一些想法：
UMD
Pro：项目地点在D.C.地理位置教好，Smith商科排名40，较高，学费42000，faculty基本都是top20 PhD 项目时间可以是15个月
Cons：第一年正式FT，risky，项目地点不在college park，离park12miles，无就业指导服务，30学分，课程设置拒大牛说比较“偏文”

Tulane
Pro：“金融小牛”，有trading room，项目很多年了，综合50，商排48，学分34，课程设置有特色，强项是energy trading
Cons：48000学费稍贵，地理位置在新奥尔良，据说金融工作机会较少，商学院排名比smith低一点，据说在国内名气没有马大史密斯大，faculty似乎毕业的学校没有马里兰好

本人将来想在美国OPT实习一段时间后回国，职业方向是Fund Manager或者personal financial planning或者行业分析师

所以各有千秋，又实在不知道哪些是最最重要的，一直做不出决定，之前看到版上有同纠结的，身边也有朋友遇到一样的选择困境，所以呼吁版上的朋友们畅所欲言，出谋划策，小弟先谢过各位大侠了~

其实我觉得申请到MLD某种程度上说大家都运气比较好，MLD的名气在国内和国外就不用说了，今年好申请的有两个主要原因，首先因为一开始它家网上挂的是PT，很多人不喜欢PT所以牛人申请不多。其次就是中介不会推荐PT(因为PT的签证较难签证,签不过它们没钱拿)，你可以试一试明年，如果你背景不牛申得上才怪。PS：告诉你个好消息，我问过上一届的，虽然没有career service，但是修改resume和模拟interview都是有的

楼主，我在马大本科上课，录取进msf和MBA,认识好些教授，也认识一点师兄师姐，就业服务肯定是有的，MBA的活动也都可以参加，你不用担心。
两个学校的比较，我不熟悉UT, 不好给你意见。
不过我觉得地点很重要。

确实，这个项目虽然改成了FT，但是还是在原来的RRB上课，和PT MBA一起被放逐到校园外，MSBF以前是PT没有career service还暂且不说，现在毕竟是FT，怎么可以这样子呢，觉得这种行为简直就是一种“欺骗消费者”，要不是有人问，甚至去了才知道自己读了一个没有career service的项目，官网信息也少得可怜，不知道马达史密斯是怎么想的！

大家说的都很有道理，UMD对这个MSBF项目的重视程度似乎没有提高到一个商学院对其FT项目该有的level上，这真的是对学生不负责对自己的reputation不负责

ibanking哥，别的我不说，我觉得很多次都有见到你再怀疑一些完全不是重点的事情，我也不知道为啥我每次都那么有能耐被你怀疑。

Career service is an essential part in a professional degree program. Why do you think this is not important? This is a crucial part in deciding which school to attend as well. Moreover, 99% of the programs in US will claim that they provide excellent career services to their students, especially business schools. It is very odd for a program claiming it does not have career service. The MSF program is offered by Smith, a reputable business school, I have EVERY reason to doubt it does not offer career service. Moreover, everybody in the forum can expersss his/her opinions, so why can't I raise this question?  lease enlighten me. However, if the admin replies it does not offer career service, then may be this is indeed the case.  LZ may want to send an email to admin again and ask her to clarify what she means by no career service. Students can not apply jobs through Smith job board? Or students can not even ask for helps for their resumes/interviews?

And last but not least, for God's sake, I don't have an issue with anybody here, and I was quoting LZ's post, why does it have anything to do with you?

对啊，所以我也很毛啊，我也觉得这个没有Career service的做法很搞笑啊！所以才觉得学校真是对这个项目重视不够的啊。
