HKU MECON 和 HKUST FA/IM 哪个好

楼主背景，香港本科学的翻译（囧），工作经验一年多，偏宏观分析，量化的东西会的不多。以后想进基金公司做RA。

两个offer都收到，都是Part Time。选哪个比较好呢

自己感觉每个项目的优势劣势

HKU MECON： 优势：与猎头公司接触，发现港大的认受度仍然高过科大
                                  根据第一点继续推，港大与大公司的对接资源可能会更多 （当可能主要供给HKU Finance？）
                                  新加了econometrics的分支课程
                                  便宜
                        劣势：MECON 感觉上不如 Finance 实用

HKUST FA/IM：优势：课程比较实用
                                  更符合我未来的发展方向
                                   课程多，15门，港大12门
                                   Part time 一年半毕业
                        劣势：和CFA的课程差不多（不知道算不算劣势，学校是按优势宣传的，但会不会有些亏，我入学的时候L2已经考完了，虽然过不过不一定）

3. Economics theory course are definitely solid training in logical mindset, and is recommended to those have time (i.e. full time student). but they are basically useless in most job in finance, well........maybe except being an economist / econ research assistant in bank or policy unit.

1. I don't think the school need make a difference.........bot will take you to the interview, and the rest depends on you yourself way more than the name.

2. the number of course is not really meaningful. Make two 3 credit courses into three 2 credit course won't make a difference at the end. The things really matters is how they organize the course material, and the structure.

3. I don't think the title Economics makes any significant difference with the title Finance too, especially when you have CFA lv 2 already. At the end, the prospective employer will ask you those financial analytic / modelling question in interviews.

網上有最新的課程大綱，你可以下載一份看一下，計量經濟學分支是聽取學生反饋後加的，以前涉及的很少。
