这题正确答案是C，楼主的疑问是：如果这个dam的construction会使那些toxic sediment浮起来，那么这个dam就是存在缺陷的不是吗？虽然它的功能没有问题，但是修建会使鱼减少，这样没有办法weaken结论啊。


我选的是D，但是看了答案觉得不对，A slight and gradual ongoing decline in migratory fish populations would not explain an abrupt and extreme decline right after the dam was built.可是正确答案C还是没法信服。求NN解答！

我本来也做错了选了A。这里标记下：

同2#前辈所说，这道题目要削弱逻辑链。
逻辑链方向：下游通过关卡去上游的鱼变少——关卡有问题

所以，削弱的方向应该是证明”下游往上游的鱼变少了，不是因为关卡“。
A选项没有直接和下游的鱼相关（“下游的鱼是上游的鱼游回来的”是脑补的，题目里没有说）；C选项和下游的鱼直接相关。

故选择C

这道题需要解释的是为什么从下游到上游的鱼的数量会减少。题目给出的结论是这个dam自身问题导致了前面那个现象。

你所能做的是找出其他原因说明不是dam导致的。

E选项：dam放水使得下游的鱼更容易游向上游。那这么说的话鱼应该增多啊，为什么结果鱼还是减少了呢？

不能用dam的优点来weaken这个dam存在defective，你需要weaken的是作者由P推出C的这个逻辑关系，而不光是这个结果。你光说它好是没用的。

不知道说明白没有。
