1.很多以-ward结尾的是副词，但是toward除外。这里afterward就是副词，需要的是一个介词，改为after.

2.those 是代词，做句子的主语。that have bright red plumage, like the cardinal做定语从句。

3.这里celebrated和celebrating不是过去分词（被动）和现在分词（主动）的区别，celebrated本身就是一个adj.“著名的”

4.after->since
