                           Should students be given a long vacation or several short vacations?

No one can deny that vacation has played an important role in student's life. The benefits of a vacation is immeasurable, such as getting a break during intensive periods of studies, doing part time jobs to familiar their respective fields, and the list could be endless. While a long vacation may make some students feel bored and exhausted, especially those who always prefer entertainment at the first thought, I believe that in the end its benefits outweigh its drawbacks. Having a long vacation will not affect the attitude towards  study, allow students to do much more things, and do not preclude alleviating the heavy pressure of study.

 

 

For one thing, let us get down to fundamentals and agree that the mission of a student is after all study. The significant thing is not how long they stay at school but the attitude of acquiring knowledge. Supposing that given several short vacations, a multitude of students may just ponder how to spend the time more quickly with the expectation of next break instead of considering how to make their time more efficient to acquire knowledge. If these thoughts filled with a student's mind until him/her graduate, his/her future would be a serious problem. On the contrary, a long vacation let students refresh enough to continue with school. A student, who have a long break, not only does not have to be subjected to study pressure, but is capable of reviewing information that he/she learned in the past term.

 

 

Another must be added, in violent contrast with several short holidays, to make use of a long vacation we can do something that need a long time to finish. For instance, part time jobs not only help students strengthen their resumes, but enable them to build crucial contacts with companies. When opportunity knocks, a condition could not be more regretful that one cannot grip it only because of lack for time. However, it will, as it were, never happen if one boasts spare time long enough. Besides, long time break offers interesting possibilities for traveling far to several different place, say, other countries. It is completely impossible for students to do such things if time is finite

 

 

In conclusion, a long vacation could provide students more opportunities to improve themselves and have fun. I content that, with the comparison of several short vacations, this is a better choice for students indeed.
