Friends are playing important roles in our everyday lives. We all appreciate good friends in our lives. Yet what is the most essential characteristic of a friend? Is it intelligence, humor or reliability? However, as far as I concerned, intelligence would be the most outstanding one. Intelligent friends can help us out, set good exemplars for us to imitate or emulate.


Smart friends can find out an appropriate way to help us out from troubles. When we are stuck in academic problems, neither our humorous friends nor reliable friends can help us out efficiently, however the friends who are mentally acute could not only solve these problems for us but provide some useful suggestions assisting us to solve these kinds of problems when we meet them again. Also, when we are caught in emergencies an intelligent friend knows how to calm us down. Only when we calm down can we give comprehensive judgments, find proper solutions and make correct choices.


Another noteworthy aspect is that an intelligent friend set up an excellent exemplar for us to learn from. By learning their unique way of thinking, we can change our previously established model of thinking into better one, and then from another angle (of consideration), we might handle troubles that we cannot solve in the past. By imitating their efficient learning methods and good habits, we can develop improved approaches to learning new knowledge more efficiently and perform better in academic field.


Moreover, those smart friends who succeed at learning or other areas similarly provide motivations for us. Their achievements encourage us to keep up with them; therefore we would try our best to learn and grapple with problems with considering more factors and possible outcomes. Also, to emulate them, we have to change ourselves actively and promote our true potentials. Hardly can we transcend them. Nevertheless through the process we have been becoming better and stronger.


In sum, it cannot deny that reliability and humor are also dispensable qualities for a wonderful friend; however, personally, I appreciate a friend who is intelligent and can provide my useful advices and encourage me to work hard.

自己修改也是很能提高能力的，比如查一查一些不确定的用法和语法，修改一些小的错误。
