Always telling the truth is the most important consideration in any relationship

what is the most important consideration in a relationship? people may say,honesty, being thoughtful, care and etc. Put all the above vitues in an order. Honesty, in other words, always telling the truth came to the most important consideration in my relationship.

no matter what kind of relationship of mine, I wish the person I am dealing with is honest. If he did anything wrong or he did anything that is bad to our relationship, I wish he could tell me the truth. If he lied to me or tried to cover his mistake, later on, I found the that myself or hear it from someone else. How could the relationship go on? How can I trust this person any more? first I will think, this person doesn't trust me. he doens't think that I can handle the truth. Second, this person doesn't have confidence in our relationship and that's why he lied. Third, I will think this person doesn't have enough courage to admit his mistake. based on the above analysis, I think there is no point to continue the relationship.

If dishonety happens once, it will happen next time. If in a relationship he lied to me once, I didn't find it out. It seems everything is OK. However, next time when the same situation happens, he will lied again. Because, he thinks lying is a "good" way to deal with such things. However, truth will come out anyway. When one day, I found the truth after many lies. The relationship will definitely end.

Some may argue that some "white lies" is necessary. For example, a doctor may lie to a patient that he is fine. But actually, the patient is going to die. However, in my opinion, such kind of lies are not as good as they think. The patient has the right to know their situation. The doctor shouldn't give the patient such hopes. It should be the patient themself to make their decisions. Even it seems a little cruel, I think it's the best way to telling the truth. They deserve it.
