终于拖到今天才开始写第一篇argument。。。耗了两个小时终于写出来了。恳求指点啊，无论是表达方式还是思路什么的


4.The following appeared in a letter from a homeowner to a friend.
"Of the two leading real estate firms in our town—Adams Realty and Fitch Realty—Adams Realty is clearly superior. Adams has 40 real estate agents; in contrast, Fitch has 25, many of whom work only part-time. Moreover, Adams' revenue last year was twice as high as that of Fitch and included home sales that averaged $168,000, compared to Fitch's $144,000. Homes listed with Adams sell faster as well: ten years ago I listed my home with Fitch, and it took more than four months to sell; last year, when I sold another home, I listed it with Adams, and it took only one month. Thus, if you want to sell your home quickly and at a good price, you should use Adams Realty."
Write a response in which you examine the stated and/or unstated assumptions of the argument. Be sure to explain how the argument depends on these assumptions and what the implications are for the argument if the assumptions prove unwarranted





In this argument author concludes that AR can sell one's house a better price by making comparison between AR, the estate firm with more estate agents and sells house in a higher price, and FR, the estate company with less estate agents and relative lower house price. This argument well-presented by author seems reasonable at first glance, nevertheless, it is established on a series of questionable assumptions.

 In the first place,author unfairly assumes that the agents in AR are better and more effective than those in FR based on the divergence of the number and workhour of agents. However, it is possible that the agents in FR all are the elites who experience a rigorous selection while agents in AR are not preeminent at work. It is equal possible that part-time agents are inclined to work more efficiently within limited time, meanwhile agents in AR may tend to be perfunctory towards their work due to low work pressure they have. Thus before making such assumption author need to take more factors and possibilities into account.

In addition, the difference of revenue may suggestion nothing unless the author gives more detail informations about two companies like size of the company as well as the sources of the revenue. For example, if staff in AR are much more than those in FR and the earning of AR is most from stock market, the revenue may have little use to support author's conclusion.

Moreover，the argument is relied on a false contrast in terms of the selling price between two firms. In order to make the comparison reasonable,the author must first validate that all relevant conditions involving the size of houses，districts where houses locate and the house surroundings are essentially the same. However, this assumption is not warranted. For example，it is entirely possible that houses sold by AR are overall in better environment and larger than houses sold by FR, consequently, people would like to purchase the houses sold by AR although at higher expense. Hence ,without ruling out these probability, the assumption argued by author might be unwarranted.

The author's conclusion depends on another questionable assumption, namely that AR sold his or her house last year much faster than FR did ten years ago, without  any information about two houses. One can fairly consider that the house last year war larger and located in better environment than the one ten years ago. And there are many other factors author fails to consider. For example, the population of this town may be much smaller than it last year, which directly influence on the demand of house. And it is also possible that since last year government implemented certain policies or laws to encourage people to purchase houses instead of rent a house, while ten years ago there was no such policies or laws in town. In a word, the author should consider and eliminate the factors and possibilities above before making any assumption.

To put it in a nutshell, author should put up with more evidence to validate his or her assumptions and carefully examine the conclusion before he recommend people to choose AR to sell house.
