very frequently the gwd questions will appear in the real exam,but only a couple of questions are from gwd in a single exam.

so it is important

and it is said that the gwd is a set of questions which are most closely related to the real exam and that's why it's important

however, the primary purpose of doing gwd is to practice and test your GMAT ability. don't expect too much to run into the questions from gwd in an exam.
