However, this argument suffers from seveal flaws and is therefore unconvincing as it stands albeit it may appear plausible at a cursory glance.
First, although the archaeologists have discovered molds of actual heads and hands on Kali but it does not necessarily indicate that the ancient Kalinese artists used molds to create these sculptures, perhaps they just made the molds for fun or they thought the molds are good works, so the editorial provides no evidence to substantiate the assumption, hence, without accounting for as well as ruling out other likely factors, the author could not assumes that the Kalinese artists used these molds to create sculptures.
Secondly, even if the Kalinese artists used the molds to create the life-size sculptures but it would not be the reason why the miniature statues wew abstract and entirely different in style,the author fails to account for the defference propose between the life-size sculpture and the miniature statues, perhaps the artists planed to use in different ways, so the so-called defferent in style and abstract does not necessarily indicate the molds thing. To corroborate his point, the author should pay a close attention, with the evidence of ruling out other likely factors could writer bolster his assumption.
Thirdly, the writer cites few ancient Kalinese sculpting tools have been found, it does not necessarily indicate that Kalinese artists used the molds to create sculptures, perhaps the tools have been eroded during different periods or the archaeologists did not find them, so the author provide no evidence to prove Kalinese artists used molds to create sculptures.
Last but not the least, the writer concludes that the life-size sculptures will decrease in value and the miniatures will increase, but the author has no evidence to substantiate people would rather like miniatures than life-size sculptures, so it makes no sense to assume that miniatures will increase in value while life-size will decrease, without compelling evidence to support, the arguer’s conclusion is not worthy of consideration.
In retropect, further investigation and analysis are needed,if the argument want to be more thorough and logically acceptable, the author should provide us more evidence such as a result of a nationwide survey about which sculpture the people like more and investgate the worth of the life-size sculptures and miniatures.
