答案是E 但我觉得C对  原因如下

原题不是问  政府的假设吗  原文起初是讲政府提出让青年去做服务，之后作者不同意这个提议 认为服务应该针对对社会有直接危害的事     题目是问政府的假设  不是政府认为correct various current social ills 会对社会产生直接危害 所以才让青年去服务吗   我选C   虽然C中没说是直接危害  但是毕竟是危害了  不管是不是直接  危害是最大的假设前提 而答案选E  我不懂  我认为E 若是正确答案  是假设 那么取非来看是NONE of the social ills that currently afflict the nation do not pose a direct threat to the nation’s existence.是针对作者的结论而进行削弱的  对government没有影响啊

取非以后使得结论不成立的选项才是正确选项哈：）

 

之后作者不同意这个提议 认为服务应该针对对社会有直接危害的事 

服务应该针对对社会有直接危害的事应该在不同意这个提议之前，这个看法是导致不同意提议的原因。

原文缺一个相关性，就是current social ills和a direct threat to the nation’s existence的相关性。搭个桥，就是E的答案。

C正好相反，把C取非正好能够推出答案。而不是削弱答案。

 题目是问政府的假设  不是政府认为correct various current social ills 会对社会产生直接危害 所以才让青年去服务吗   我选C   虽然C中没说是直接危害  但是毕竟是危害了  不管是不是直接  危害是最大的假设前提 E是指向作者结论的 与问题不一致

A和D项明显错误我们可以不管，分别看其他项：

B项涉及了文中未出现的foreign attack，而且只是threatened一种特殊情况，如果选则将犯非此即彼的错误

C项Crises in education and housing 文中明确以especially修饰，表明其为current social ills的特例，而assumption是必要条件，特例无法充当必要条件。

E项为什么正确？

   这里其实是一种not all＝some的变换，文中various表示了all的含义。对to correct various current social ills的否定即以some表达。
