questions to Duke admits

To those who are admitted through round 1:

how long did it take to hear about scholarships? (from the date you receive the acceptance)

And to those who are currently in US:

anyone going to the Blue Devil Weekend (Apr 1-3)? I might go...

No, I haven't decided. There are so many factors to consider - financial aid, curriculum, fit... That's why I was asking about scholarship because, depending how much/little I get from Duke, things may be very different. Plus, I have heard both good and bad things about the city of Durham. So I'd like to see it myself before making a decision.

thanks! looks like it'll take a while to hear about $$$. I believe we need to RSVP by March 11 about Blue Devil Weekend. I haven't quite decided if I'll attend BDW. But flight/hotel may get expensive if I wait until end of March. Oh well...

Has Yale sent out $$$ info yet? just curious... I'm still daydreaming one of the schools will give me a free-ride, but that seems unlikely

jane, i got nothing from yale. nowadays it is harder and harder to get a free ride from a top program.

yeah, I know, that's why I said I'm daydreaming I was doing my taxes this weekend, which only made things clear that I'll be income-free for two years, and the distinct likelyhood that I'll incur over $100K in student loan, and I cannot ask my parents to bail me out

I have spent all my savings on expensive cloths and travel... just kidding!    You're right, we probably won't incur all that much in loan. ($100K is the total cost, obviously, and if we're lucky, a little merit scholarships may be thrown at us). But this whole number-crunching is still depressing and now I totally understand why everyone wants to do IB.

Back to the Duke specific question. I checked the admission binder. We're supposed to find out about merit scholarships ~3 weeks after acceptance (just like ruiyu said), just so if anyone else is wondering.
