Any body get the similar request from Rotman?

I received a strange request from Rotman today, anybody meet the same situation?

This is rediculous. They told me to do this after two months when they didn't receive reply, why not notice me earlier? And every Chinese student may know that no Chinese university would check the student record for this type of request.

I contacted CDGDC immediately, but they need me to submit original transcript and degree(while I have submitted all my documents to B-schools, where can I get a new one as I am now in Canada?) and pay RenMinBi and wait for 20 workdays. This is really irritating and wierd.

Attachment is the Rotman e-mail:

Dear XXXX,

The MBA Admissions office has a policy of checking all international
transcripts.  Your transcripts were faxed to XXXX University and for verification in March and to-date we have not received a reply.  Before the Admissions
Committee can officially offer you admission to Rotman, they require
that you get your official Chinese transcripts certified as soon as
possible.  lease apply for the certification of Chinese academic
degrees by sending your documents to the China Academic Degrees &
Graduate Education Development Center.  Their website is
www.cdgdc.edu.cn.  The report, in English, should be sent directly to
the Rotman School by International Express.

Should you require further clarification, please feel free to contact
me.

我记得从前是有人也说到ROTMAN的类似要求的。您可以看看置顶的录取汇总，询问一下其他录取的朋友。

一个朋友收到过,办好了就拿到OFFER了,是多大对中国学生的统一要求.那个公证我的朋友加快了,5天就办好了,不用20天.

Hi, gcaxu:

I am now in Canada and calling school sounds not that appealling since:1.it's summer vacation and not many staff stay in school;2.I have no idea which department I should call , JiaoWuChu? 3. I don't think the school will check those stuffs for you just by a phone call. Normally, I guess, they will require somebody to visit the school to get those.

How about your idea? Applying for the CDGDC costs aboput 20 workdays besides the time I mail my documents back to China, irritating, really irritating.

I called, nobody answered the phone, no answering machine. After leaving school for so many years, I know nobody in the city where my university locates.
